社会融合过程是个体与个体、个体与群体以及不同群体之间相互配合和相互适应的过程.反映了迁移者与当地社会的关系。本文在总结国内外社会融合相关研究成果的基础上.对人口的社会融合过程进行了一些理论性述评,认为已有研究成果主要从社会、经济、文化和迁移者自身状况等多个维度全面考察了移民对新环境的适应情况.研究内容全面、深入,但在研究对象上仍然存在不足,主要的问题是现有文献集中于研究社会地位较低的人口群体如何融入社会地位较高的人口群体的问题.而对社会地位较高的人口群体如何融入社会地位较低的人口群体,以及社会地位相同或相似的人群之间的融合问题研究得很少。
