安徽省地质矿产局三二四地质队区调分队在安徽贵池地区进行一比五万姚街幅区调中,最近在自然重砂中发现一种新矿物,经本省地质矿产局实验室光谱半定量分析,X光衍射鉴定,定名为四方硅铁矿——Fesiz(Ferdisilicite)。队实验室、地质矿产部南京地质矿产研究所等单位对该矿物进行物性测定,其特征是: 在双目镜下呈钢灰色、金属光泽、摩氏硬度5~6,贝壳状断口、不透明、不溶于强酸,无磁性,比重4.5~5。矿相鉴定:反光镜下浅棕色,强非均性,无双反射,硬度HV_(100)=739.9,波长549nm
