恶性疟原虫基因组测序有望带来疟疾研究方法的革命。除了简单的基因发现,基因组测序将便于综合鉴定寄生虫发育阶段的基因表达、病理以及对药物治疗的宿主遗传背景等环境变量的反应。本文介绍了恶性疟原虫基因组测序计划的近况及功能基因组学开发的生物信息学及其分析工具的应用,其目的是根据对疟原虫生物学的深入观察,确定合理的、基于信息的、新的治疗策略和目标。
Plasmodium falciparum genome sequencing is expected to bring revolution in malaria research methods. In addition to simple gene discovery, genome sequencing will facilitate the comprehensive identification of gene expression at pathogenic stages of the parasite, pathology, and environmental variables such as the genetic background of the host for drug treatment. This article presents the current status of the Plasmodium falciparum genome sequencing project and the application of bioinformatics and analytical tools developed by functional genomics to identify rational, information-based, new Treatment strategy and goals.
