Objective To investigate the effect of low birth weight on the liver function of adolescents and to provide a theoretical basis for early intervention and prevention of the occurrence and development of fetal diseases. Methods In April 2007, 1200 healthy adolescents aged from 17 to 22 were randomly selected from urban areas of Yancheng City. Twenty of them were selected as the experimental group from birth weight <2500 g and 20 from normal birth weight As a control, detection and comparison of some blood biochemical indicators. Results The test group and the control group were each 20, the level of alanine aminotransferase in the low birth weight group was higher than that in the normal birth weight group (P <0.05), the direct bilirubin level and the lactate dehydrogenase level were lower than those in the control group P <0.05). There was no significant difference between the average level of total bilirubin, total protein, albumin, alkaline phosphatase, r-glutamyltransferase, aspartate aminotransferase and apolipoprotein Significance (P> 0.05). Conclusion Low birth weight has an impact on the liver function of adolescents (17-22 years old). Prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases should be started from the fetus.
