Mysterious tunnel underground Yucatan Mexican archaeologists in the Yucatan Peninsula recently found a hidden underground “old maze.” What amazed the experts was that the ancient Maya not only excavated a maze tunnel, but also built several stone pyramids with small temples. According to archaeologists involved in the excavation work, the underground maze is very long, a total of 14 connected caves (some of which have collapsed). Experts point out that this latest discovery proves that the ancient Maya tribes are not only good at building large-scale temples and shrines on the ground, but also have built a large number of underground facilities - most of which have yet to be discovered.
