清代是三国说唱文学发展史上的一个繁荣昌盛时期,其主要艺术特色有:第一,在艺术结构上,这些说唱文学具有轮廓性特点。第二,在人物塑造上,说唱艺人口中的历史人物性格鲜明,呼之欲出。不仅塑造了众多的历史人物形象,如刘备、张飞等,而且开拓了对女子形象的塑造,如小乔、貂蝉等。在人物形象的塑造上,艺人也擅长刻画人物的内心世界,对英雄的心理刻画细致入微。
