秋紫豆,是凤县科技人员,选择农家品种变异单株,经6年系统选育而成,1996年陕西省品种审定委员会审定通过,定命为凤县秋紫豆,先后获宝鸡市、陕西省科技进步奖,1998年获中国西部交易会金奖.该品种自1997年至今累计推广50000hm~2,全国南北各地均试种成功,为解决蔬菜“秋淡”增添了新品种.种植秋紫豆,每667m~2可收入2500～3000元,还可收获小麦400kg左右,是一个很有效益的菜豆角品种.
