光缆作为计算机局部网络的传输媒质,目前还不多见,其主要原因是价格偏高,不易分又及标准化差等。但就我们的局部网络而言,在某些环境条件差、噪声大(如电磁干扰、高频干扰等)、各站点间距离较远、要求高速及防雷击等情况下,采用光缆还是行之有效的。我所目前已建成的OMNINET网络,采用光缆与双绞线相结合的办法,收到了较好的效果。微机局部网络的传输媒质广泛采用光缆,只是一个时间的问题。但就现阶段而言,其作用也是不容忽视的。本文给出了一个光纤局部网络的实际例子,并对光缆的使用作了一定的分析。
