歌剧(opera)于17世纪初诞生于意大利,是参照古希腊悲剧而形成的集音乐、美术、戏剧、舞蹈于一身的综合艺术形式,通常由咏叹调、宣叙调、重唱、合唱、序曲、间奏曲、舞蹈场面等组成。“五四”时期,中国一些音乐家开始尝试以中国民族音乐为基础,借鉴西洋歌剧的写作手法来创作中国新歌剧。而合唱作为歌剧表演常运用的一种形式,也被中国作曲家学习借鉴而来。本文以歌剧《伤逝》为例,分析了合唱在歌剧中渲染气氛和画龙点睛的作用。
