Ten years ago, China formally joined the WTO. Compared with Beijing’s successful bid for hosting the Olympic Games, this is an event where there is no end. It is a race for China to further open to the outside world and integrate itself into the constantly seeking new opportunities in the global economy. It is also a forum for China to further raise and Expand competition in global trade, economic status and impact. In 2001, two memorable events were taking place that made China and the rest of the world: First, Beijing’s success in bidding for the Olympic Games; Second, China’s accession to the World Trade Organization. Beijing has successfully bid for the Olympic Games, jumped all over the country and attracted worldwide attention.
