We all love our motherland and love the plants and trees in this land. We accept her history, her culture, her tradition, and at the same time, we have to accept some of her shame. National humiliation is a heavy topic. This article seeks a broader view of the national shame - the Nanjing massacre. From history to today, from China to the world, we compare the attitude toward national shame between China and Japan and the viewpoints of contemporary Chinese youth about national shame. Through these comparisons, we hope to find out: Why should we honor national shame? National shame For us What is the modern significance? How should we choose to commemorate the national humiliation in contemporary society? Perhaps this is what we should think and do.
