当前,锻造铝台金汽车轮毂多采用抗蚀性与加工性能优良的热处理不可强化的5052合金板材,但它的强度不高,因此要求有强度高、成形性能好的铝合金,以减薄轮毂壁厚,进一步减轻其重量。6061合金是热处理可强化的,强度高,抗蚀性好,但成形性能差,加工轮毂的工艺为:退火状态材料→成形→固溶热处理→矫正→人工时效。生产工序比5052合金的多3道,5052合金轮毂的加工工艺为:退火状态材料→成形。日本神户钢铁公司轻合金伸铜事业本部与研究部新近研制成的KS6161合金就是一种新型的汽车轮毂铝合金。
