在处理中国历史典籍英译所遇到的文化空缺和文化冲突等问题时,译者要充分发挥主体性原则,在翻译中进行适当的文化调节。本文以胡志挥的《左传》英译本为例,分析了在历史典籍英译的过程中译者可以如何使用文化调节策略促进文化传播和交流。
When dealing with such issues as cultural vacancies and cultural conflicts encountered in the English translation of Chinese historical texts, the translator should give full play to the principle of subjectivity and carry out appropriate cultural adjustments in translation. This paper takes the English version of Zuo Zhuan as an example, and analyzes how translators can use cultural adjustment strategies to promote cultural communication and exchange during the process of English translation of historical books.
