加拿大现代著名作家大卫.理查兹的小说《孩子间的仁爱》用第一人称叙事,以主人公悉尼.亨德森的儿子莱尔的口吻讲述了主人公悲剧的一生,深入探讨了社会伦理道德和个人信仰之间的矛盾与冲突。本文旨在通过分析小说的不同章节中第一人称叙述者莱尔思想和行为的改变,来探究莱尔超脱于祖父和父亲的悲剧命运而实现自我救赎的心路历程。
Canadian modern famous writer David Richards’s novel “love between children” with first-person narrative to the protagonist Sydney. Henderson’s son Lyle’s tone tells the story of the protagonist’s tragedy, in-depth discussion of social ethics and Conflicts and conflicts between personal beliefs. The purpose of this paper is to explore the mentality of Lyle’s self-salvation beyond the tragedy of his grandfather and father by analyzing the changes of the first-person narrator Lyle’s thoughts and behaviors in different chapters of the novel.
