Liver fibrosis is one of the serious consequences of schistosomiasis. The development of molecular biology and immunology has laid a foundation for the study of liver fibrosis caused by schistosomiasis and provided a scientific basis. Kupffer cells are an important non-parenchymal cells in the liver, and their secreted cytokines (such as transforming growth factor, platelet-derived growth factor) are involved in the occurrence and development of fibrosis as an important influencing factor. This review summarizes the role of Kupffer cells in liver fibrosis in schistosomiasis in recent years.
