The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the functional status of urinary incontinence and the direction of hospital discharge during stroke rehabilitation. Data 90 hospitalized patients in 1994 met the following criteria: urinary incontinence at least once daily for 2 to 4 weeks after stroke, and for 2 consecutive days, the bladder index on FIM was ≤5. The average age of female cases (64.4%) was 69.45 ± 14.2 (SD) years (26-94 years). There were a number of diagnoses in the patient and 32.2% of patients were diagnosed with urologic disease including urinary tract infections (n = 14), benign prostatic hypertrophy (n = 3), and transurethral resection of the prostate (n = 7). Most stroke is unilateral hemisphere, about 37% of the left.
