每当需要给出建议,南开大学教授、中国科学院院士张伟平总会不假思索地对出色的年轻人说:“去数学系吧。”在这位数学家看来,数学是智力的挑战,数学是科学的基础,数学值得选择。对提起数学就头疼的考生,张伟平说,那就选你喜欢的专业。但关于这点,即使最有选择权的那些年轻人——高考状元,往往也很难做到。在延揽全国至少半数状元的清华大学,今年录取的四五十名文理科高考状元中,有18人投到经济管理学院门下。难道,状元们的志趣,天生就这么趋同吗?张伟平院士认为:这一方面是件好事,经济管理学科后继有人;另一方面也反映了高分学生专业选择的狭隘性和盲从性。
