Europe is the birthplace of television. On November 2, 1936, the BBC held a grand television launch ceremony in Alexandria Palace, 6 miles north of London. It became the first television station in the world to officially broadcast its programs. With the passage of time, Europe has become one of the most developed regions of television so far, with 98% of households owning at least one television, averaging 200 minutes of television a day. Such a thriving television business is a combination of factors - well-developed economic support, public service management concept (before the 1980s), public service and market-oriented “two-track” strategy (since the 1980s)
