Following the first symposium on archeology, Reading also invited several humanities scholars to discuss Archeology and Humanities. The four articles published here are the result of this discussion. Archeology and archeological discoveries have not only changed the landscape we used to take, but also have an impact on the way we look at history. The scholars participating in this discussion, only Chen Xingcan is a professional archaeologist, several others are scholars in the field of humanities. From their respective fields, they think archeological issues, but also use the historical achievements of archeology to reflect on the premise that their own fields can be constructed. We hope that such thinking will lead to more in-depth discussions and produce corresponding research results in all fields of knowledge. The reader can be forewarned that Reading Magazine will publish contemporary scholars’ discussions on scientific discoveries, scientific theories and the history of science in the near future and will also organize a thematic discussion on contemporary urban culture issues in China. In the new year, Reading Magazine is willing to work with readers and authors to jointly care about and discuss the social, cultural and natural issues we face. This is our common mission.
