目前,我国的道路交通事故死亡人数(未包括港澳台地区,下同)在全国总死亡人数中位于脑血管疾病、呼吸系统疾病、恶性肿瘤、心脏病、损伤与中毒以及消化系统疾病之后,居第7位。每年全世界约有50余万人死于交通事故,我国汽车保有量为2000多万辆,仅占全球汽车保有量的2%,而近3年来,我国每年有10余万人死于交通事故,平均每天死亡300人,每4.8分钟有1人死于车祸,约占全球每年死于交通事故人数的15%～20%。从上个世纪80年代末至今,我国交通事故死亡人数已经连续10余年居世界第一。
At present, the number of road traffic fatalities in China (excluding Hong Kong, Maucao and Taiwan) is the highest among all the country’s total fatalities after cerebrovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, malignancies, heart diseases, injuries and poisonings, and digestive diseases 7th place. Every year, about 500,000 people die of traffic accidents in the world. The car ownership in China is more than 20 million vehicles, accounting for only 2% of the global car ownership. From the late 1980s till the present, the death toll of traffic accidents in China has ranked first in the world for more than 10 consecutive years.
