This paper introduces a structural scheme of viscoelastic energy dissipation supported by a commercial column building with a 9-degree seismic fortification, a large open space on the ground floor, and a 5-storey residence on the upper part. The design of viscoelastic dampers and energy-absorbing brace is described. The main results are given
