根据世界卫生组织提供的材料,到1989年4月30日,全世界已登记的艾滋病病例已超过151790件。该组织认为,目前可能携带人类免疫缺陷病毒的人约有500万到1000万。艾滋病发病高峰推测在1989至1991年期间出现。至于说找到一种可以指望的治疗艾滋病的药物,那么根据现有情况推测,这种药物的出现不会早于5到10年。因此在近期内主要的精力应放在预防和立法上加强针对艾滋病而采取的斗争措施上。
According to the information provided by the World Health Organization, as of 30 April 1989, more than 151,790 AIDS cases were registered in the world. The organization believes there are about 5 to 10 million people currently likely to carry the human immunodeficiency virus. The peak incidence of AIDS emerged between 1989 and 1991. As for finding a cure for AIDS that can be expected, according to the current situation, the drug will not appear earlier than 5 to 10 years. Therefore, in the near future, the main focus should be on prevention and legislation to step up the fight against AIDS.
