丹江口水利枢纽的施工导流采用分期的围堰方式。1959年初,第一期右岸低围堰建成。在59年汛期,洪水由左岸束狭部分河道下洩,在围堰内进行大坝基础及导流部分的施工。至59年末,右岸导流部分将完成,再在左岸进行截流,修建第二期左岸高围堰,继续进行左岸大坝的施工。60年汛期,洪水即由右岸导流部分下洩。第二期围堰的规模是很大的。据初步估计,顶高将达120—125米高程(吴淞基面,下同),已初步形成水库,库容有20余亿立方米。上游围堰的高度,将近40—50米。一旦失事,其后果是异常严重的。因此,初步决定围堰应按1%洪水设计,0.5%洪水校核。
Danjiangkou Water Control Project construction diversion by staging cofferdam. In early 1959, the first phase of the right bank built a low cofferdam.
