At the invitation of Japan-China Cultural Exchange Association, a delegation of Chinese musicians headed by Xu Pei-Dong, executive vice chairman of the Chinese Musicians Association, and Zhao Jiping, vice-chairman of the Chinese Musicians Association, paid a visit to Japan from March 10 to 17. Members of the delegation include People’s Music Deputy Editor-in-Chief Yu Qingxin, teacher of vocal music department of China Conservatory of Music Zhang Ye and Li Hongdong, cadre of Outreach Department of Chinese Musicians Association. The association of Chinese musicians and the Japan-China Association for Friendship and Exchange has a long history. The visit of a Chinese musician delegation to Japan coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Japan-China Friendship Exchange Association. On March 23, 1956, Nakashima Kenzo and Mentakazuya also initiated the establishment of a Japan-China Association for Friendship Exchange with the promotion of friendship and cultural exchange between the peoples of Japan and China as well as famous personalities from cultural circles such as Inoue. At that time, Japan and China did not establish diplomatic ties and the Japanese government adopted hostile policies against China, which resulted in many difficulties for non-governmental exchanges. However, the Japan-China Association for Cultural and Cultural Exchanges did its utmost to unite with Japan and China in a friendly manner and actively unite with Japanese cultural circles and groups Activities made an important contribution to the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and China in 1972. After the normal diplomatic relations between Japan and China were normalized, the Japan-China Association for Cultural Exchanges and the Chinese cultural circles accelerated the pace of exchanges and frequent exchange of visits by cultural delegations from all walks of life. In 1979, at the invitation of the Chinese Musicians Association, a delegation of Japanese musicians led by composer Tadashi Izu visited China and opened the prelude to friendly exchanges between the two music circles. After that, Lv Ji, former chairman of Chinese Musicians Association, Sun Shen, Yan Liangkun, vice chairman of the Chinese Musicians Association, and Fu Gengchen, the current chairman of the China Music Association, visited the country in succession. For decades, mutual visits by musician delegations organized by the Chinese Musicians Association and the Japan-China Cultural Exchange Association have promoted the mutual understanding and friendship between musicians of the two countries.
