对于大多数中国留美历史学会的会员来说,一年一度的年会不仅是交流心得、切磋学术的盛会,而且是相会旧朋故交、以文会友的好机会。更重要的是,熟识的家乡语问候和交谈,这么多中国人一下子聚集在一起使得人们忘记自己身处异国他乡,仿佛回到了太平洋彼岸的故国家乡。这种心情在年会结束好久仍会在心中逗留、徘徊不去。 中国留美历史学会自1987年成立以来,已在纽约、洛杉矶等地三次召开年会,会员人数也不断扩大。1990年的年会选择在风景秀丽的海滨城市巴尔的摩召开。虽然会议只开两天(8月10下午至12日
