《中国翻译》1989年第2期第36—41页《浅论科技文献翻译技巧》一文指出,翻译以英语撰写的科技文献,“既要精通英语,还要懂得专业知识,……此外,汉语的文学水平和对句子的组织能力也十分重要,……”这无疑是正确的。(原文说:“科技文献翻译最主要的特点是既要精通英语,……”这句话是有语病的。因为科技文献并非都是用英语撰写的。)该文第四节讲的是:“对于难译的句子要推敲”。这也是必要的。(实际上,对于所有的句子都要推敲。)
