元氏县妇幼保健所根据《中华人民共和国母婴保健法》和《河北省母婴保健条例》赋予的职责，依法开展妇幼保健工作，并从行政管理、服务质量、服务队伍、质量考核等方面进行探索，经过几年努力收到了较好的效果，出生缺陷发生率由１９９４年的２４．７８‰降至１９９７年的２０．４６‰，其中神经管畸形由１９９４年的１０．５１‰降至１９９７年的５．７８‰。
