OBJECTIVE: To investigate the role of the interaction between 538T / C (BMP4 538T / C) variant and NOG 615G / C variation in the development of nonsyndromic cleft lip and palate (nsCL / P) significance. METHODS: A total of 200 nsCL / P patients and 200 controls were selected from two general hospitals and matched for age, gender and family socioeconomic status. The polymorphisms of BMP4538T / C and NOG 615G / C were detected by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP). The additive model was used to analyze the variation of BMP4 538T / C and NOG 615G / C Interaction. RESULTS: After adjusting for the age and educational level of parents during pregnancy by non-conditional Logistic regression, the interaction between BMP4 538T / C and NOG 615G / C was positive for nsCL / P and the attribution was 2.05 , 46.28% of the attribution interaction effect, 59.77% of the attributional interaction effect between pure factors, and 2.49 of the interaction effect index. CONCLUSION: The interaction between BMP4538T / C and NOG 615G / C variation is of great importance in the study of nsCL / P prevalence in this study population.
