京广运河是规划中从广州通往北京的一条运河。如果以長江的武汉三鎭为中心,武汉以南可称为京广运河南段,武汉以北可称为京广运河北段。京广运河南段是利用湘江或赣江等自然河流,鑿穿与珠江的分水嶺而与珠江上游的西江或北江溝通,加以拓宽浚深而成。京广运河北段是沿伏牛、太行兩大山脉的东麓,华北大平原的兩侧,开鑿一条人工运河一直通往北京。
Beijing-Guangzhou Grand Canal is a canal planned to open from Guangzhou to Beijing. If the Yangtze River in Wuhan Sanli as the center, south of Wuhan can be called the Beijing-Guangzhou Canal Henan section, north of Wuhan can be called Beijing-Guangyuan Hebei section. Beijing Guang-Guang Henan section is the use of the Xiangjiang River or the Gan River and other natural rivers, piercing the watershed with the Pearl River and the Pearl River upstream of the Xijiang River or Beijiang communication, to be broadened and deepened. The northern part of Beijing-Guangzhou Canal is along the eastern foot of the two great mountains of the Funiu and Taihang. On both sides of the Great Plains of North China, an artificial canal has been cut open to lead Beijing.
