According to ISO 17025, more and more laboratories are using light emission spectrometers (OES) every year. ISO17025 compliance increases the importance of evaluating and reporting measurement uncertainty. The Measurement Uncertainty Indication (GUM) provides guidance on the analysis of uncertainty. However, the implementation of these guidelines is a daunting task, especially if you are not familiar with the concepts of mathematics and statistics necessary. Therefore, test and calibration personnel must often look for ready-made tools to meet their analytical needs. This article reports the analysis software Thermo Fisher Scientific implemented to measure the uncertainty. In addition, the application of knowledge based on uncertainty is also described for calculating the probability of product consistency.
