古希腊神话作为西方文化的起源,对英语语言的发展起到了助推的积极作用。大学英语教学不仅要注重学生在听说读写的实际运用能力,而且要不断加强和提升学生的人文素养。古希腊神话是大学英语背景知识的构成要素,也是提高学生学习兴趣的良好途径。本文主要探讨古希腊神话对英语词汇和文学艺术两方面的影响,以及如何在大学英语教学过程中输入并渗透古希腊神话等西方文化。
As the origin of western culture, ancient Greek myth played an active role in boosting the development of English language. College English teaching should not only pay attention to the practical ability of students in listening, speaking, reading and writing, but also continuously strengthen and enhance the humanistic accomplishment of students. Ancient Greek mythology is a component of college English background knowledge, but also a good way to improve students’ interest in learning. This article mainly discusses the influence of ancient Greek mythology on English vocabulary and literature and art, and how to input and penetrate Western culture such as ancient Greek mythology in the process of college English teaching.
