学校2001年与原杨浦区殷行一小合并,组建九年一贯制的上海市中原实验学校,2005年经杨浦区人民政府和上海音乐学院合作办学,更名为上音杨浦学校,2009年搬迁至新校区并再次更名为上海音乐学院实验学校。学校始终坚持“基础厚实,艺术见长”的育人目标,围绕“以德育为核心,文化基础厚实,具有鲜明艺术教育特色,中西文化兼蓄的九年一贯制学校”的办学目标,依托上海音乐学院的人才资源和信息资源,加强双方在课程建设、师资建设和校园文化建设等方面的合作交流,推动学校内涵化、特色化发展。
