传统的吉祥元素是人们在进行长期的生活实践和社会活动室,为了表达追求幸福、平安的愿望,便赋予了自然中特定的形象,或是图案一些美好的寓意,加诸于一层神秘的光环。在佛教建筑艺术中,吉祥元素的使用成分使其独具文化特色。譬如莲花,石狮子,花草纹等与人的日常现实生活关系密切,更为贴近自然,生动可感。留存至今的佛教建筑景观使抽象的东西在这里完全生活化,具体化,可触可感。让观赏的现代人可以身临其境的体味前人心灵的奥妙。
