２１世纪将是知识经济占国际经济主导地位的世纪。知识经济直接依赖于知识和信息的生产、扩散和应用。知识经济以高科技产业为第一支柱，以无形资产投入为主，经济与技术高度兼容，并导致世界经济一体化。知识经济对发达国家而言，是生产力发展的自然结果，对发展中国家，则是机遇与挑战并存。世界各国都在为进入知识经济作准备，我们也应未雨绸缪，加紧准备，以确保中国在未来的知识经济中占有一席之地。
The 21st century will be the century in which the knowledge economy will dominate the international economy. Knowledge economy depends directly on the production, diffusion and application of knowledge and information. The high-tech industry as the first pillar of the knowledge-based economy, with the main investment in intangible assets, economy and technology are highly compatible and lead to the integration of the world economy. For the developed countries, the knowledge economy is a natural result of the development of productive forces. For developing countries, there are both opportunities and challenges. All countries in the world are preparing for entering the knowledge economy. We should also take precautions and step up preparations to ensure that China has a place in the knowledge economy of the future.
