琉球群岛旧时曾被称作中国的东大门,历史上与中国关系密切。公元1372年开始向中国明朝进贡,国王分别受明朝册封,官民与明朝往来十分频繁。1609年,日本萨摩藩诸侯岛津氏用武力征服琉球,1879年,日本又强行吞并琉球藩设置冲绳县。二战后期,日本败局已定,美国想把日本用武力侵占的琉球群岛交给中国,但蒋介石几度犹豫,致使罗斯福总统提出的这一建议没有成功。
The Ryukyu Islands was once called Dongdaemun of China and was historically close to China. In 1372 the tribute began to the Ming Dynasty in China. The kings were sealed by the Ming dynasty and government officials and the Ming dynasty were very frequent. In 1609, Japan’s Satsuma feudal island Jin Tsuen used force to conquer Ryukyu, in 1879, Japan also forcibly annexed the Ryukyu feudal Okinawa Prefecture. In the latter part of World War II, Japan’s defeat was settled. The United States wants to hand over the Ryukyu Islands Japan occupied by force by Japan. However, Chiang Kai-shek hesitated several times and led to the unsuccessful President Roosevelt’s proposal.
