阅读是人类汲取知识的重要手段和认识世界的途径之一,是学习所有学科的基础,也是提高外语水平的重要途径。因此,如何有效地提高英语阅读理解能力成为多年来外语界不断讨论的热点。Baddeley和Hitch(1974)提出的工作记忆是指长时记忆中被激活的部分,它在语篇阅读理解中扮演着重要角色。通过阐述工作记忆的特点,并分析了其与英语语篇阅读理解的关系,指出在工作记忆下提高英语语篇阅读理解的技巧,最后提出了如何通过提高工作记忆来促进阅读理解教学的措施。
Reading is an important means of human knowledge acquisition and one of the ways to understand the world. It is the basis for learning all disciplines and an important way to improve the level of foreign languages. Therefore, how to effectively improve the reading comprehension of English has become a hot topic that the foreign language circles have been discussing constantly for many years. Working memory proposed by Baddeley and Hitch (1974) refers to the part of long-term memory that is activated and plays an important role in reading comprehension. By elaborating the characteristics of working memory and analyzing its relationship with reading comprehension in English, it points out the skills of improving reading comprehension of English discourse under working memory and finally puts forward some measures to promote reading comprehension teaching by improving working memory.
