端午节是中华传统节日之一,到现在已经有两千多年的历史了。据说,它是为了纪念爱国诗人屈原的。战国时期楚国有一个人叫屈原,那时他怀着一颗爱国之心,提出了一些能够富国强民的好主张,但由于当时的腐败,他的策略不但没有被君主采纳,反而一次次地遭到楚王的拒绝和排挤,最后,楚王将他逐到沅、湘流域。屈原生性耿直,对祖国怀有深沉的爱,终于在国殇消息传来时,跳进汨罗江以死明志。当地的渔夫知道此事后非常痛心,划着小船把竹筒里的米撒向汨罗江喂鱼,以保全屈原的尸首。以后每年的农历五月初五定为端午节,人们用吃粽子、划龙舟来纪
