Using proton precession magnetometer for absolute measurement of the vertical component of geomagnetic field Z (in the high latitudes), the need to make compensation coil orientation, determine the compensation current and adjust the level of three tasks. Any one done poorly, have a direct impact on measurement accuracy and reliability. We use the CHD-6 proton precession magnetometer, 73-1-type instrument in Pinggu County, Beijing Ma Fang magnetic station did not compensate the coil level test.
