1978年10月7日在朝鲜南部忠清南道的洪城郡一带发生了一次中等强度地震,极震区烈度达七度表的4—5度(据我国部分台站资料,震级约为 Ms 4.2)。由于较长时期以来,朝鲜半岛处于一个地震的平静时期,发生地震较少,其中破坏性地震更少,因此,这次地震引起多方面重视。南朝鲜报纸曾于1978年10月9日就洪城地震作了较长篇幅的报道,涉及此次地震的灾情、成因和对朝鲜半岛地震发展趋势的估计等方面。现摘要编译如下,仅供参考。
On 7 October 1978, a moderate-intensity earthquake occurred in the area of Hongseong-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, in southern Korea. The intensity of the seismogenic zone reached 4-5 degrees on a seven-degree scale (according to some stations in our country, the magnitude is about Ms 4.2 ). Since a long period of time, the Korean Peninsula is in a calm period of earthquake, with fewer earthquakes and fewer destructive earthquakes. As a result, the earthquake has drawn much attention. The South Korea Newspaper made a rather lengthy report on the Hongseong earthquake on October 9, 1978, concerning the disaster, its causes and the development of the Korean Peninsula Earthquake.
