准噶尔盆地东部是指博格达山以北,克拉美丽山之南,奇台高地以西,乌鲁木齐市以东的广大地区,面积近2万平方公里。自五十年代以来,地质部六三一石油普查大队和新疆石油管理局,在这一带作了大量的地质调查工作,发现许多油气显示。五十年代后期,在克拉美丽山以南的滴水泉鼻状构造,沙丘河、帐蓬沟构造,南部的北三台构造,及吉木萨尔凹陷进行了浅井及部分深井钻探,由于受当时条件的限制,探井一般都打在隆起很高的构造
The eastern part of Junggar Basin refers to the area north of Bogda Mountain, south of Kelameili Mountain, west of Qitai Heights and east of Urumqi, covering nearly 20,000 square kilometers. Since the 1950s, the Geophysical Bureau of the June 31st Census of Petroleum and the Xinjiang Petroleum Administration have done a great deal of geological investigation in this area and discovered many oil and gas shows.
