1930年5月,年仅19岁的共产党员姚依林,在组织指挥了“一二·九”学生运动后,离开了清华大学,被中共北方中央局党组织调到天津工作。他先在党的刊物《长城》担任编辑,不久又担任了天津市委宣传部长,继续从事学生运动的领导工作。 1937年5月,中共中央在延安召开了白区党代表会议。北方局领导刘少奇、彭真等人,天津市委书记李铁夫、副书记刘澜涛、组织部长李启华都先后赴延安参加会议。姚依林与妇女部长张秀岩没有去。但不久,中央通知说铁夫同志到延安后身体不好,让张秀岩(铁夫的爱人)也去。张秀岩走后,天津市委只剩下姚依林等为数不多的几个人。
In May 1930, just 19-year-old Communist Party member YAO Lin left the Tsinghua University after organizing and commanding the “January 9” student movement and was transferred to Tianjin by the CPC Central Committee’s party organization. He first served as editor in the party’s publication “The Great Wall,” and shortly served as propaganda minister for the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee and continued to lead the student movement. In May 1937, the CPC Central Committee held a meeting of party representatives in the White Zone in Yan’an. Liu Shaoqi and Peng Zhen, leaders of the Northern Bureau, Li Tiefu, secretary of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, Liu Lantao, deputy secretary of the CPC Central Committee, and Li Qihua, minister of the organization, all went to Yan’an to attend the conference. Yao Yilin and women’s minister Zhang Xiuyan did not go there. However, soon after the Central Committee informed that Comrade Tetsuoh went to Yan’an, he was in poor health and let Zhang Xiuyan (Tiefu’s lover) go. Zhang Xiuyan left Tianjin Municipal Committee only a few people such as Yao Yilin.
