In this study, 15 permanent Class Ⅱ patients were studied. The second maxillary teeth were extracted from the lower dental arch. The mean age at extraction was 13.4 years old. After extraction of the maxillary arch began to square wire orthodontic treatment, the lower arch teeth to adjust themselves, an average of 6.6 months. By comparing the dental model measurement before and after tooth extraction and the computerized X-ray cephalometry, it was found that the space between the lower dental arch extraction teeth decreased significantly, the anterior teeth lower, the mandibular molars moved forward, and the crowding degree of the lower dental arch decreased. The results of this study show that the movement of the teeth during self-adjustment of the lower dental arch is beneficial for the treatment of Class II patients with the second bicuspid extraction.
