Significant progress has been made in transforming the mode of economic development. On the basis of a marked increase in development balance, coordination and sustainability, the per capita income of both GDP and urban and rural residents will double than in 2010. The contribution of scientific and technological progress to economic growth has risen sharply and has entered the ranks of innovative countries. The basic realization of industrialization, the substantial increase in the level of informationization, and the marked improvement in the quality of urbanization marked the success of agricultural modernization and construction of a new socialist countryside and the formation of a mechanism for coordinated regional development. - Excerpted from “Report of the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China”
