中国古代神魔小说是我国古典小说形式之一,思想内容相当混杂,其语言风格不拘一格,想象力丰富,背景或为虚幻或为海外某地假托,综合宗教、神话等民间喜闻乐见的形式,因此至今广为传颂,对现代流行的网络小说有很大影响,提供了很多珍贵的文学资料,尤其是现代小说《搜神记》继承了很多优秀特质,却又更加博彩众长。
