在长春,戏剧界的朋友常常提到他们的米市长,说老米爱戏、懂戏,是戏剧界的好朋友。这些听来并不足为奇,喜欢戏的市长并不难寻,可是听到下面这件事的时候,却令我对这位市长声生由衷的敬意:一次省京剧团演出《杨门女将》,将票送到市政府机关,米市长知道后马上召集有关部门开了个紧急会议。他明确规定:谁看戏谁签名取票,不看戏的同志坚决不许拿票,剩余的票责成有关人员退还剧团,以免造成浪费。米市长不仅这样要求别人,他自己也是以身作则、身体力行。他拿了票就一定去看戏,接受了邀请就绝不失信。有几次他在外地开会,会一散就赶回长春,甚至不回家,不吃饭,买两个烧饼赶到剧场。事情虽小,但却反映了这位市长对戏剧、对演员的爱护与尊重,反映了老米纠正不正之风从具体小事抓起的扎实的领导作风。
