从中国古典审美观念看来,美既不是一种外在于人的、实体化的美,也不是一种内在固有的、主观意念性的美,而是作为个体的“我”与天地万物共存状态下不断纯粹化而呈现出来的一种境地。这是一种纯粹的美。从西方古典审美观念看来,美是一种先在的、永恒的存在,它是不生不灭、自存自在的,一切美的事物都以它为源泉。这是一种绝对的美。
