芝加哥当代艺术博物馆(Museum of Contemporary Art,Chicago)成立于1967年,现为全球最大的当代艺术场所之一,主要收藏战后当代艺术家创作的各类艺术作品,包括绘画、雕塑、摄影、录像和装置艺术等。迈克尔·达林(Michael Darling)2010年被委任为博物馆的馆长,在职期间,多次举办具有国际影响力的大展,2015年底更是策划了“坡普艺术设计”展,重新诠释波普艺术、波普设计、艺术与设计这些命题。本刊借此契机,对其进行了专访,了解展览的同时也更多地呈现该馆与我国不同的美术馆运营机制和展览理念。
Founded in 1967, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago is now one of the largest contemporary art venues in the world. It mainly collects various works of art created by contemporary postwar artists, including paintings, sculptures, photography, video and Installation art. Michael Darling was appointed curator of the museum in 2010 and during his tenure has held many international influential exhibitions. By the end of 2015, he has curated and reinterpreted “Pop Art Design” Pop art, pop design, art and design these propositions. The magazine took this opportunity to conduct an exclusive interview with them to learn more about the exhibition as well as the different operating mechanisms and exhibition concepts of the museum.
