翻译在世界各国文化交流中的作用越来越重要,翻译已经成为各国进行文化交流的桥梁。译者在翻译中主要起到两个作用:理解原著;对原著进行再创作。但是译者在翻译英文作品时,会遇到文化缺省现象,为了更好的帮助读者理解译文,译者必须采取妥善措施来应对文化缺省。本文分析了译者的作用,还从直译、意译、归化三个方面来讨论了弥补翻译缺省的策略。
Translation is playing an increasingly important role in cultural exchanges among countries all over the world. Translation has become a bridge for cultural exchanges between countries. The translator plays two major roles in translation: understanding the original; recreating the original. However, translators may encounter cultural defaults when translating English works. In order to help readers understand the translation better, the translator must take appropriate measures to deal with cultural defaults. This article analyzes the translator’s role, but also from the literal translation, free translation, naturalization three to discuss the translation default strategy.
