According to statistics, the world’s total output of direct-reduction equipment for HYL-type iron ore in 1990 exceeded 5252kt (see table below), exceeding the reported production of 18.5% in 1989. Typically, three types of HYLⅢ iron ore direct reduction units (Hylsa2M5, 3M5 and Sicartsa) operate at 90% of rated capacity. The output of the 2M5 is 17% more than its nominal output.
