The South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University of Tokyo, Chiba University in the northern part of the South China Sea conducted a “Deep Earthquake Refraction Detective” offshore operations, from May 15, 1993, which lasted 18 days, on June 1 Successful completion of the inspection mission to undertake the “Experiment 2” also successfully returned to Guangzhou Xinzhou Terminal. This task is an important part of the major national basic research project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, “Structure, Composition and Evolution of Lithosphere in the Southeastern China and Adjacent Seas”. The seismic refraction detection profile extends from the offshore 91m deep in the Red Bay in the northern part of the South China Sea to the deep-sea basin in the South China Sea at a depth of 3950m over the continental shelf and the continental slope, covering a total length of 400km. Put seabed seismograph 15, continuous shooting 70 hair, each explosive
